Basting my quilts is the least favorite part of making a quilt for me. I have tried pin basting and spray basting. I really like Sarah's Tutorial on Maching Quilting 101. She shows how to spray baste. I have used this method quilt successfully, however, the spray is expensive and it is difficult to find the floor space to baste a large quilt. It is also pretty hard on the body!
My two most recent quilts ( I will post pictures later today) were pin basted. I was reminded how I don't like pin basting. It is easy to baste the quilt, but difficult to quilt. I broke a couple of needles.
For my next quilt, I am considering trying Sharon Schamber's hand basting method. The links to her tutorials are below. Let me know what you think. Has anyone tried this method?

Lisa, this is Rhonda aka Quilter in the Gap. I tried to reply to your comment about being in Knoxville but you are a "no-reply blogger" so I can't. Would you mind sending me an email. gap.rhonda@gmail.com
Yes, I have tried Sharon's method. I made the boards the way she shows to do it. I like her method, but I still had difficulty with the thread catching on things as I quilted, so I went back to pin basting. There is a tool to make pin basting easier but I can't remember the name of it. Someone has a YouTube video about it, I think it is Pat Sloan. I am looking forward to browsing your blog. Blessings.
