Freezer/Pantry Inventory
I decided that I needed to do an inventory of my freezer and pantry to see exactly what I have on hand. I have been so busy buying all the great deals that I was afraid I might be forgetting what all I had on hand.
It was quite a shock to write all of these items down. My mother is living with us now and she said I have enough groceries on hand for "the summer, at least"!
My freezer is so full that I didn't realize we still had meat from the whole hog we bought last fall. And, of course, we still have a lot of beef from buying the 1/2 cow late last year.
I am going to list all of the items I have on hand below. This list is a convenient way for me to keep track and, hopefully, I will be more accountable about using up what I have on hand instead of going out and buying more. I absolutely do not need to buy meat!
I will be following this post up with a menu plan based on what I have on hand. I will make as many meal plans as I can.

Wow! What a list. I now see that taking an inventory of what you have is really important. I think I will start doing this at least twice a year.
What about you? Why not stop and take an inventory of what you have on hand. You might be as surprised as I was. I think now my challenge is to plan meals from my pantry and only buy milk and fresh produce for the rest of the month. Check back and see how I do. Better yet, join me in my "Eat What You Have on Hand Challenge".
If you have any meal ideas, please leave me a comment. Thanks!

Wow, I can't believe you took the time to actually go through and write all that down. Now that is impressive and organized.
Isn't it eye-opening to do an inventory! Your pantry is much more organized than mine!
You might just wanna print that out, hang it on the inside of the pantry and cross things off as you take them out. Then, you won't have to do the big inventory-taking exercise for a while.
Off to inventory my freezer and cupboard. Though, without a deep freezer and only a small "pantry" it won't take me quite that long.
Wow, I can't believe you actually took the time to do this! We actually cleaned out our deep freeze in early May, it amazing what can hide frozen for years in there!
I am impressed that you inventoried it and I probably have as much as you do. My hope would be that I could do what JCem suggested and keep a running list of what you have.
